Don’t Just Be a Being — Be a Useful Being
Every life form on this planet is born complete in its own way. A mango tree will only bear mangoes. A tiger will always be a tiger. A camel will never become a lion. They live out the design of nature fully and effortlessly, without striving to be anything else. They are whole.
But human beings are different. Unlike other creatures, we are born incomplete , not in weakness, but in potential. We are not confined to a single path. We can become many things. We can shape our lives, our environment, and even the future of the planet.
A human being carries within the capacity to transform. We can invent tools, discover cures, restore sight to the blind, make the lame walk, and even heal the earth that sustains us. No other species carries such possibility. This is our unique privilege.
Yet, despite this gift, too often we live in selfishness. We take more than we give. We extract from nature without replenishing it. We consume without creating balance. In doing so, we miss the true purpose of being human.
To be human is not merely to exist. To be human is to choose wisely what we become. To grow not only for ourselves but also for others. To create, to heal, to uplift, and to enrich the world.
The greatest life is not the one that simply survives, but the one that serves. Don’t just be a being. Be a useful being.
